What to expect as a patient at First Hand Health Chiropractic
We know your first time at any health care clinic can be a stressful experience - and since we're in the business of reducing stress, we've worked hard to ensure that your first visit will be as stress free as possible.
When you first come in you'll be greeted at our front desk by your chiropractor or the receptionist. We will show you how to sign in and will give you our new patient paperwork. Since we know paperwork can be stressful, ours is straightforward, and can be downloaded ahead of time if you want to finish it at home. Once your paperwork is filled out, you can leave in on the front desk or hand back to the receptionist. As soon as your paperwork is filled out your chiropractor will review it briefly before taking you into the consultation room, sitting down and starting your initial consultation. This initial visit usually takes no more than 1 hour
In your first Consultation , you will be asked a serious of questions regarding your complaints, a detailed medical history and questions relating to you what you expect to achieve in your consultations. The chiropractor will then take you through a thorough exam to diagnosis your injury and then explain to you what may be the reason for your injury, as well as treatment options and expected outcomes. You will then consent, and start your treatment regime.
After your first visit Your chiropractor will ask you to make your next appointment usually within a few days. In this time, your chiropractor will want to sit down with what they learned from meeting with you -go over the results of any tests they did and will put together an individualized care plan to help you get better. Our office doesn't believe in cookie-cutter care plans - unlike many offices which decide to treat areas of your body that aren't hurting, or try to make your healing process match everyone else. We want everyone to get exactly the care they need.
Your second appointment is called a "Report of Findings" - an appointment where we will re-assess how you feel after your first treatment, go over in more detail how we think we can help you and your care plan. This appointment is usually 30-45 minutes, and will also cover our recommendation for the amount of sessions needed for your treatment to be effective and discuss any concerns you may have !
Once you've had your first 2 visits, your remaining care is much easier - visits take about 25 minutes and can be scheduled throughout the day. We will work with you and make sure your visits don't interfere with your life!
If you have any questions about becoming a patient with our office, don't hesitate to contact us - we will happily answer any questions you may have.
